1.What was your motive to buy Guild Wars?

I think that most of population buys this game because of comertial...is it true?

i bought this game cuz it was the only MMO with no fees, and i thought i might somehow be less of a loser if i played a video game with ppl, rather than single player games........

I bought it because I wanted an immersive gaming experience with no fees.

And I played everything from the WPE on, and got super pumped.

I saw one of my friends playing it, and i liked how fast you regen health.. Unlike other games where you need some kind of potion to get back to full health :P

Got tired of Ghost Recon, after many years

Played Freelancer, liked it

Found out GW was about 1000% better than Freelancer and bought it.

One major factor being the no fees.

Did a lot of board games and pen/paper games with my kids when they were growing up. Had a great time, when they weren't at each others throats. Now that they are in their thirties (except for necro daughter -- 19), wanted something that we could do together, without everybody having to plunk down a monthly fee.

So, I've got three out of the four, and a couple of grandkids into GW. Works for us, although we seldom all get to play at the same time.

Saw an ad for the World Preview Events on Game Informer.com...Tried it out on the appointed weekend and couldn't stop thinking about it 'till it came out. Then I bought it XD

I was reading slashdot and there was a side banner with that pic of Devona for the WPE and it seemed appealing. Saw the download was 64kb for the client and the rest was streamed. Then I read the website and VNBoards and TGH and decided to try it :P
